It was announced today that Downing Street had received a petition from the Daily Mirror urging the government and Prime Minister to work toward implementing 5 demands:

A £10 million National Centre for Asbestos Related Disease
In a recent report from the HSE, it has been reported that initial projections on potential deaths caused by exposure to asbestos have been underestimated.
The new report and projections suggests that deaths will continue to increase peaking in 2016 with 2,014 male deaths. It is estimated there will be around 91,000 deaths to occur by 2050.

In an important test case the High Court in London today announced its long awaited decision on the asbestos “Trigger Case”.
The Court has ruled that sufferers of mesothelioma, a fatal tumour of the lining of the lung caused by exposure to asbestos, can continue to claim mesothelioma compensation from the insurer who provided cover at the time the deadly asbestos dust was inhaled by the sufferer.
