Asbestos Checks Reveal Compliance Picture at Non-Local Authority School
Checks on how schools outside of local authority control are managing asbestos have revealed that most have adequate arrangements in place – though 17 per cent fell below acceptable standards in relation to management procedures.
The gentleman, aged 71, from Crewe contracted asbestosis when he worked in the rail depot. He started with British Rail in 1955 as an apprentice and worked for them for over 34 years, working his way up to Works Department Inspector.
