Dormant Asbestos Awakens Campaign Protest!
A small oxygen bubble of publicity recently surfaced in the press, attempting to downplay the widespread dangers of white asbestos, still to be found in many buildings and land sites around the UK.
Claims for indirect and inadvertent exposure to asbestos have shown to have been on the rise within the last decade. This may be simply due to the deadly combination of an original lack of asbestos awareness and the long gestation period before asbestosis symptoms appear.
The disposal of asbestos waste is a significant area for public concern over the very real dangers presented by environmental exposure and consequential contracting of asbetosis. It is not always clearly understood that even a modest exposure to asbestos dust over a relatively short period can have serious long term effects, which may often only be diagnosed as asbestosis or mesothelioma decades later after exposure.
