Asbestos Risk – Now and Then!
News that the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) has just published a revised guidance on managing asbestos risks, entitled ‘Asbestos: The Survey Guide’, aimed at anyone surveying or removing asbestos from business premises, is a reminder of a former lack of asbestos awareness in the workplace, which still causes so many illnesses and fatalities today.
A Bristol based company has been prosecuted and fined by the Health and Safety Executive for exposing their workers to asbestos whilst working. Frank Bruce & Company Ltd pleaded guilty in Bristol Magistrates in relation to refurbishment work at Lawrence Hill Industrial Park, Bristol in February 2009.
HSE Launch Asbestos Podcast
The Health and Safety Executive have launched their podcast highlighting the dangers of asbestos. In the latest edition 3 apprentice engineers are asked to produce a video to highlight the dangers of asbestos for young people.
